How We Test & Review

Every device on PetGearLab is tested hands-on by our review team with real pets in real homes. We evaluate each product across five key criteria: ease of setup, video and connectivity quality, smart features, build quality, and value for money.

We purchase all products ourselves — no free review units, no manufacturer influence. Our ratings are based on at least two weeks of daily use, and we re-test devices when firmware or app updates significantly change the experience.

We compare products head-to-head within their category so you can make an informed decision, not just read a spec sheet. If a product isn't good enough, it doesn't make our list.
