Best pet camera we've tested
The Short Version
The Furbo 360 is the best pet camera you can buy in 2026, and it's not particularly close. The 360-degree rotating lens eliminates blind spots, the treat dispenser works reliably, and the app is the most polished in the category. At $169 it's expensive, but the build quality and feature set justify the price if you're away from home regularly.
What's in the Box
- Furbo 360 Dog Camera
- Power adapter (USB-C) with 6ft cable
- Quick start guide
- Sample bag of treats (Furbo-branded)
- Wall-mounting kit (3M adhesive + screws)
Setup Experience
Setup took us 4 minutes from unboxing to live feed. Download the Furbo app, create an account, hold the setup button for 3 seconds, connect to your WiFi, and you're done. The camera automatically rotates 360 degrees during setup to calibrate its position.
The app guides you through treat loading with an animation. Furbo recommends their own treats ($12/3-pack) but any round treat under 1cm works fine. We used Zuke's Mini Naturals without issues.
Tip: Place the Furbo at least 3 feet from the wall to allow full 360-degree rotation. The camera needs clearance to spin freely.
Video Quality
The Furbo 360 shoots 1080p at 30fps with a 160-degree wide-angle lens. Daytime video is sharp with accurate colors. Night vision uses 8 infrared LEDs and produces clear black-and-white footage up to about 20 feet. The auto-switch between day and night mode is instant.
The 360-degree rotation is smooth and quiet — about 3 seconds for a full rotation. You can manually control rotation in the app or let the camera auto-track your dog using AI (requires Dog Nanny subscription). AI tracking correctly identified our test dog (Golden Retriever) about 90% of the time.
Treat Dispenser
The treat dispenser is the Furbo's signature feature and it works well after 3 months of daily use. You can toss 1-5 treats per session, and the app lets you trigger a toss with a single button or set up automatic treat schedules.
The mechanism has never jammed in our testing. The key is using the right size treats — anything round and under 1cm diameter works. Flat treats, large biscuits, or irregularly shaped treats can cause issues. The treat container holds about 30-50 small treats.
Treat compatibility: We tested Zuke's Mini Naturals, Blue Buffalo Baby Blues, and Wellness Soft Puppy Bites. All worked perfectly. Milk-Bone Mini (slightly too large) caused occasional double-dispensing.
Two-Way Audio
Audio quality is above average for a pet camera. The speaker is loud enough to be heard across a medium-sized room, and the microphone picks up sounds clearly. There's a 0.5-1 second audio delay on both directions, which is standard for WiFi cameras.
The barking alert feature sends a push notification when it detects sustained barking (not just a single bark). In our testing, it correctly identified barking about 85% of the time with occasional false positives from loud TV or door slamming.
Dog Nanny Subscription
Furbo's optional Dog Nanny service costs $6.99/month or $69/year and adds:
- Cloud recording: 24-hour or 90-day video history (plan-dependent)
- Activity alerts: Person detection, dog activity, barking alerts with clips
- Photo highlights: AI-selected photos of your dog throughout the day
- Auto-tracking: Camera follows your dog automatically
- Dog diary: Daily summary of your dog's activity
Without Dog Nanny: You still get live streaming, treat tossing, manual rotation, two-way audio, and barking alerts. The subscription mainly adds recording and AI features. It's worth it if you want to review footage, but not required for basic monitoring.
Build Quality & Design
The Furbo 360 has a clean, modern design with a bamboo wood top and matte white plastic body. It looks like a smart home device, not a pet product. At 1.4 lbs, it's stable enough to resist being knocked over by most dogs, though very large or enthusiastic dogs can tip it.
The wall-mounting kit is a smart inclusion. Wall-mounted, the Furbo is completely out of reach of curious dogs. The 6ft USB-C power cable is long enough for most outlets.
Battery & Power
The Furbo 360 requires continuous wall power — there's no battery. This is standard for pet cameras with motors (for rotation and treat dispensing). Power consumption is about 5W during active use and 2W in standby.

Final Verdict
The Furbo 360 Dog Camera earns its top spot through a combination of best-in-class video quality, reliable treat dispensing, and the most feature-complete app in the category. The 360-degree rotation eliminates the main complaint about earlier pet cameras: not being able to find your pet in the frame.
At $169 plus an optional $6.99/month subscription, it's a significant investment. But if you spend long hours away from your dog, the ability to check in, toss treats, and receive alerts is genuinely valuable. Our test dog learned to associate the Furbo's click sound with treats within a week, and would run to it on cue.
Rating: 4.7/5 — The best pet camera available in 2026. Recommended without hesitation.
